Nov 7th 2010 9:19AM I think that Elizabeth is absolutely right! YOu can walk in and vote under someone else's name. It is crazy. I live in Connecticut and where I live, I was asked for ID. It is not an issue of race - how would you feel if you went to vote and found that someone else went in and was told that someone claiming to be you (they did not have to show ID) already cast a vote using your name?
Sep 8th 2010 1:43PM Once again - the liberal democrat hypocrasy. Democrats will cry all about rights and how conservative, Christian Republicans are awful to pick on teen moms because everyone is able to make mistakes (except, apparently, if you are the child of a Republican). This girl did not ask to be a "star". As for her being a pregnant single mother - I can recite a list of "stars" who got pregnant as teens and are unmarried but the media and Democrats never say a thing about them... Ashley Spears, Brittany Spears, Nicole Richie, Ashley Simpson, and older sinlge moms like Naomia Watts, Minnie Driver, etc (I could go on forever)... But again, the Dems have no grudge against their mothers and the Democrats standard seems that it is only appropriate to pick on CHILDREN and TEENAGERS whose parents you do not like... How noble and grown up of you...
Sep 8th 2010 12:18PM It is amazing to me that Bristol Palin has to be picked on once again not because of anything she has ever done to harm a single person but because people do not like her mother! Is her dress modest? I don't know, it has as much coverage as most of the other woman. And it is at least 4 times as much coverage as Audrina Partridge's and I don't hear anyone asking if Ms. Partridge's is "modest". Oh - I forgot. The cowardly left wing media is not trying to harm Ms. Partridge's mom...
Apr 21st 2010 12:45PM I rarely weigh in but I wonder why anyone gave this story so much press.
I side with Disney. When you have a children's theme park with employees who dress as characters you have to draw a line. Children will be drawn to adults they think are "characters". It is a safety issue.
As a parent, it actually gives me comfort that they enforced the policy. It is right up there with a 4 year old can't go in the haunted mansion alone... If keeping 100 million kids safe means that an adult who should know better won't get to wear a $30 wedding dress on a day that she is not getting married so be it...
As as for the "humiliation" she felt - you have to be kidding me! Grow up!
Sep 16th 2009 9:46AM That is wrong. There is another US citizen who won the Nobel Peace Prize. John Pastore, Jr. won it in the late 1980's.
