Pippa Middleton's Glamorous Green Royal Wedding Reception Dress

May 1st 2011 11:21AM Jeez, Mari. We ARE talking about a couple of caucasian women here, you know. And how do you know all the replies are from caucasians? Are we speaking 'white'? I have no idea who you are but clearly the simplest topics become racial for you. Get some counseling--it is your own problem. These are very lovely people, having one of the biggest days of their lives. Let them have their day! They are lovely, clearly well-behaved young women. They deserve some respect.

Inside Megan Fox's Struggle to Gain Weight

Mar 9th 2011 11:18PM There are real people out there who truly do struggle to gain weight and it is not fun. I am perfectly healthy and definitely do not think being underweight is either attractive or desirable. But at 5'5", I struggle to try to keep my weight above 110 pounds--a far more reasonable weight for me would be at least 115. Do not assume that we 'skinnies' choose to be this way. Many of us simply have very high metabolisms that shift into high gear at the slightly bit of stress. It isn't any nicer to be cruel to someone underweight than it is to mock the obese.

Sexual Harassment Still Pervasive in the Workplace

Jan 29th 2011 12:30PM The workplace can be tough and people (i.e. women) need to learn to fight back. I had a lot of it in grad school and the workplace and a well-placed knee to the ego usually dealt with the problem. Men are also brutal to each other but in other ways. If you are going to whine to 'someone in authority' every time someone offends or gropes you need to go back to the clerk pool.

Country Gal Gwyneth Paltrow Would Love a Farm in the Future

Nov 20th 2010 4:17PM Is Paltrow having some kind of identity crisis? Last I heard she was more English than the queen--now she wants to go country? Puleeeeeeeze . . .

Tina Fey's Sarah Palin Remarks Cut by PBS

Nov 16th 2010 5:31PM @Mike: Who are you? The grammar teacher with the red pen? Some people use lower case to make a point, others are simply bad typists. Is this the best you can do? If so, i despair.

Tina Fey's Sarah Palin Remarks Cut by PBS

Nov 16th 2010 3:07PM Tina Fey is intolerant of all women who are not her. Sarah Palin has far more supporters and will be remembered long after the snips of Tina's babbling have turned to dust on the floor.

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End

May 30th 2010 5:34PM As a BIOLOGIST with another opinion, there are few diseases or disasters that some portion of the population does not survive. If you are a biologist, you know this. And as a philosopher, I know that 'chance favors the prepared mind.' People who are ready to start over again are going to be WAY ahead of the game. Fatalists such as yourself will simply perish.

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End

May 30th 2010 5:30PM Oh, buggsym. You are gonna make great target practice for the first Prepper you try to mug. You have NO idea what kind of people you are dealing with. You would be buzzard food on day 1 with your attitude.

Maybe not everybody has the money to do long storage 'prepping,'
but anyone can learn a survival skill.

And to answer a question someone else asked, when the dried food runs out a real Prepper knows how to grow food and has what they need to do it well. They also have friends they are ready to join forces with for protection. They also have a reasonable amount of charity in their hearts to try to help where they can. Even idiots like some of you.

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End

May 30th 2010 1:54PM If you think today's circumstances compare to Y2K YOU are delusional. And you misunderstand Prepper "lifestyle." There was a time when everyone had the simple skills of self-sufficiency. Thomas Jefferson was no fool--he was the ultimate "Prepper" in what he created at Monticello. Not a bad person to emulate . . .

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End

May 30th 2010 1:49PM If IT hits the fan, I could not look my grandchildren in the eye and say "I could have saved you but did not bother to prepare." Anyone out there who thinks the government is going to save them in a disaster is loony and obviously does not read. It may very well be the GOVERNMENT that brings the disaster upon us. Self-sufficiency is the key to sleeping well nowadays . . .
