May 17th 2010 8:49AM But Bob, there are soooo many contract copywriters out there needing jobs I'm sure! Glad they're going to be taken care of. How about the rest of us now!
May 13th 2010 4:43AM I'm a former American Airlines flight attendant who worked for the company for 14 years. There's a definite stategy for getting what you want, or to at least have the crew try. Be friendly, that's all! I once had a passenger pointing her finger in my face yelling at me over a mistake a gate agent made (one that could easily be corrected) and I told her she would have to go out and speak to the agent to resolve the issue. I am fully aware at how grulling the airline industry is with full planes, dirty planes, delays and sour employees, but if you go up and ask for something nicely and not demand it in a degrading, you may even find yourself in first class!
We're not there to torture you. We want you to have a nice flight, but with so few provisions anymore, such as pillows, blankets and extra bottled water, it's a challenge in and of itself to make a planefull of people happy.
Apr 22nd 2010 8:20PM We can't show this, but we can show prime-time tv shows where people's brains are getting blown right out of their head? If you watch CSI, Law and Order, Bones, etc. There's enough vilolance that would probably warrent an R rating.
The Lane Bryant commercial is considered offensive, but when Kim Kardashian is strutting her stuff by a pool in a tiny bikini promoting her new diet pill showing much less than the Lane Bryant women and talking very seductively then suddenly that's okay? And we wonder why are children have such low oppinions of themselves.
Apr 19th 2010 10:39PM It is so hard to see other talent on AI knowing there will never be another Adam Lambert. Would people pay attention to the singers, or him? I think he's too much of a free spirit to criticize anyone because been been on that stage and judged very harshly at times. I don't think he would want to crush anyones dreams and I think AI wants that strong presence that will say anything. I personally think Gene Simmons would make a great judge. He knows music, he's brilliant, and he would know great talent when he sees it.
Apr 13th 2010 9:45AM Elisabeth, you wrote "What makes you think you would survive a plane crash in the first place?" Did you not see the footage of US Air in the Hudson with all of the passengers on the wing? How do you think they got on the wing? THE EXIT DOOR!!!! There are plenty of reason's why a plane may need to be evacuated and it's not always do to a crash, It could be smoke in the cabin, or God forbid a threat on board such as someone having on explosive underwear. Do you want to wait a while so the people sitting in that row can get the door open? Come on! Where's your common sense!
Same with you Praxus. There are other reason to evacuate. If you're comfortable with the exit row being a free for all, I hope I'm never on a flight with you. I value my life.
Apr 12th 2010 5:05PM For all of you bargain shoppers out there, Payless has some cute shoes out and Christian Siriano has jumped on that bandwagon. You can usually get one pair and the nex half off. I don't have any affiliation with Payless, but if you're wanting some cute shoes to go with your Taget outfits, you can find some fantastic buys and no one would ever know you didn't go to Bloomingdales. Sorry Emma, but the world is a different place now. Good luck with your bad attitude!
Apr 12th 2010 4:58PM Who is this girl anyway? She's 19? She looks like she's 40 and washed up already. I love Target. Those of us who have had to cut their spending at least have a place to buy some decent items for summer and not break the bank. I don't know who this little harlot thinks she is, but a lot of large designers are resorting to the discount stores to launch their clothing lines and I think that's a great move! I shop a Target and I'm not ashamed to say so!
Apr 11th 2010 11:22PM I never really knew who Jesse James was until I watched him on last season's Celebrity Apprentice and he seemed like a really cool guy. He seemed to be one of the people who had their head on straight but boy was I wrong! Donald Trump seemed to be impressed by him as well. The only reason he was even on that show was because of Sandra and now I feel like he used her. I can see how she had no idea of his infidelity because he can make himself into a genuine, decent person when he needs to be which are all the attributes of a true sociopath. I hope she get's rid of him and never looks back.
Apr 8th 2010 1:02AM Ms Fran,
I don't think it's a matter of her not "wanting" him. At the time, she thought her boyfriend would one day be her husband. Most girls would have had an abortion and never looked back. My friend had a baby at seventeen and now that his son is his age, he's very open about how he was too young but he loves him anyway. He just wants him to get an education and be a kid a little longer. He makes sure he knows he was never a mistake, but he is candid about how he and his girlfriend had to struggle and you always want the best for your kids. I admire him for being open about it because it's a valuable lesson for everyone. Jason said he wouldn't change having his son for anything, but timing is everything.
Apr 8th 2010 12:53AM You would be astounded by the number of teens having abortions instead of giving their babies life. Bristol and Levy weren't doing anything that many of their peers are doing as well, she just happened to have a very public pregnancy. That's just a fact. If you have children her age, chances are they have had sex.
Adoption was an option for her but at the time she thought her scumbag boyfriend would be by her side. Abstinence is great in theory, but we all know teenagers lack the maturity to really think about the consequenses that a sexual relationship can bring. All of the education a lecturing in the world is not going to keep hormonal curious teens from having sex, so protection should be more available to them privately and without embarrassment. A lot of young people probably won't go into a drugstore and buy a box of condoms because it's awkward.
STD's are also a huge problem that I don't think they understand, so since they're going to do it, we need to make sure they are safe.
