It appears that the editors of Grazia thought the newlywed could stand to lose a few and trimmed the bride's torso (and added a bronze glow) for their latest cover, Jezebel points out.
The international fashion magazine's new issue celebrates the royal wedding and features the duchess in her Sarah Burton-designed gown with a Barbie-esque physique.
The publication defends its image, and according to a statement on their web site, says there was no retouching:
"Grazia prides itself on being a publication that champions women and women's bodies, and we have no reason to make Catherine Middleton appear thinner.
"We know that many of our readers will be aware that it is common practice to retouch and enhance images to fit the style of a publication; both in tabloid and broadsheet newspapers and in magazines.
"However, in this instance, Grazia did not make any changes to the image of the Duchess of Cambridge in order to make her look slimmer than she is. We did, however, remove the Duke; and the Duchess' arm was adapted in order to fill in the resulting gap."
Kate's (unintentionally) digitally whittled middle is particularly ironic given the media's fascination and scrutiny over her weight leading up the wedding. She was both applauded and criticized for dropping pounds too quickly, and at one point wanted to gain weight, according to Now magazine, the Daily Mail reported.
It's been estimated that Kate went from a U.K. size 12 (or U.S. size 10) in November to a size 8 (U.S. size 6) just before her big day. Her secret? The Dukan diet. Both her and her mother Carole Middleton reportedly follow the plan, which involves a strict eating regiment similar to the Atkins diet but with carbs... along with a side of Photoshop for good measure.
